What To Expect

God is seeking those who will worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Worship is crucial to the life of the church and the people of God. The Christian life is not a life of isolation, but a life of assembling together with other believers to proclaim the glory of God and encourage one another.

At Northland Reformed, we see worship not only as singing or music, but as all-inclusive of everything we do when we gather together as God's people. We serve a precise God, and God has told us precisely how he is to be worshiped. Therefore, we only do those things in worship which God has specifically commanded in his word: Singing, Praying, Reading of God's Word, Preaching of God's Word, Giving, Confessions of Faith and the Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord's Supper).

We usually begin our services at their stated times (Sundays @ 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM) and they generally last 65 to 75 minutes.

Our services are pretty easy to follow, and after the Opening, we pretty much stand to sing and sit for the rest.

Below is an example of our typical order of worship:

  • Call To Worship
  • Greeting
  • Invocation and Lord's Prayer
  • Gloria Patri
  • Psalm/Hymn of Praise
  • Reading of God's Law

  • Reading of the Heidelberg Catechism
